Ingredients

  • 2 tilapia fillets (approximately 200g each)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 cup shredded jicama
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the spices for the rub: paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the tilapia fillets.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Add the tilapia fillets to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the fish is cooked through and blackened.
  5. While the fish cooks, prepare the slaw by combining shredded jicama, red cabbage, and any additional preferred vegetables in a bowl.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together lime juice, honey, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
