Ingredients

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 7g active dry yeast
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 10g salt
  • 350ml warm water
  • 200g ham, diced
  • 200g cheese, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • Coarse salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare your pretzel dough by mixing flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add warm water and mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes.
  4. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size (about 30 minutes).
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten each ball to create a disk.
  6. Place a piece of ham and cheese in the center of each disk.
  7. Wrap the dough around the filling and pinch to seal tightly.
  8. In a pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
  9. Boil each pretzel bite for about 30 seconds and then remove.
  10. Place the boiled pretzel bites onto the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  11. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving.
