Ingredients

  • 3 medium zucchinis
  • 500g ground beef
  • 400g marinara sauce
  • 250g ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 200g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Slice the zucchini into thin strips.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef; drain any excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the beef, stirring until well combined; set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and seasonings.
  6. Spread a thin layer of the beef mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Layer zucchini slices over the meat mixture.
  8. Add a layer of the ricotta mixture on top of the zucchini.
  9. Repeat layering until ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of zucchini.
  10. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  12. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
